Ladies v Gents

This fun but competitive match is usually played at the beginning of September.

2024

Four rinks of triples had a very enjoyable game in the sunshine on Tuesday 3rd September. The men won again, this time winning 3 of the 4 rinks and getting the aggregate. Afterwards, there were cakes and biscuits along with Prosecco and orange juice. Bill Humphreys congratulated the club on its achievements this year and Ladies' Captain, Susie Whistler, presented the shield to the Gent's Captain, Pete Darbyshire.

2023

The green was full with all six rinks in action for the Ladies v Gents on a hot and sunny Saturday 2nd September. Five triples and one pairs battled it out for the Ladies v Gents shield with the men winning by 8 shots. An excellent tea in the village hall was followed by Chairman Dave Chapman making a speech praising the club's achievements this year. Susie Whistler (on behalf of the ladies) presented the winner's shield to Danny May.

2022

Close this year but the gents win again (only by three shots)! In the absence of Pete Darbyshire (Gent's Captain), Bill Humphreys received the trophy from Christine Wood.

2021

The match was played earlier this year, on 29th August. The men won again and Christine Wood presented the shield to Club President David Blyfield.

2019

The match took place on 15th September. The ladies were well ahead at one point in the match but the men fought back to get the win yet again.
