Club members enter a wide variety of county competitions (singles, pairs, triples and rinks) and can nominate to be considered for county teams.

Stella Logan Champions
Following their win last year, Yorkshire Ladies' Stella Logan team has become the county league champion once again. Our own Emma Oates, Susie Whistler and Sally Scott can all be found on the back row. The photo was taken after their win against Durham at Bishop Monkton.

National Championships at Leamington Spa
Representing Yorkshire in the national finals, the ladies team beat Oxfordshire in the first round 19 - 17 only to come up against a strong Bedfordshire team (the 2019 champions) in the second round two days later losing 13 - 21.
After receiving their badges, the team was ready to face Oxfordshire.

Congratulations to Su Armstrong who lost in the final to Sue Allen from Swinton and is seen here receiving her trophy from Margaret Redhead, Yorkshire Ladies President.
Stella Logan win the County League
The Yorkshire Ladies' Stella Logan team won the county league for the first time since 2016. Our own Su Armstrong and Emma Oates can be seen on the back row of this squad photo. Very well done ladies!
Leamington here we come!
Bishop Monkton Ladies were the Yorkshire Senior Fours champions! Su Armstrong, who usually played in the team, injured her knee two days before the final and was unable to play in the final at Helmsley so Sandra Roberts was asked to join the team. The win over Swinton saw the team through to the national finals at Leamington Spa in August. They were presented with the shield by Ladies President Margaret Redhead.

Men's County Pairs Competition
Pete Darbyshire and Dave Chapman made it to the County Pairs semi-final this year. Danny May played for Dave in the quarter-final and for Pete in the semi-final. Unfortunately, Dave and Danny lost their semi-final to a pair from Borough Park (Middlesbrough).
Pauline Beecroft was the 2023 vice-president of the Yorkshire Bowling Association Ladies Section.

Benevolent Triples
For the second time, three ladies from the club were runners-up. The final took place at Redcar where they lost to North Duffield. They were presented with their plates by Yorkshire Ladies President, Sylvia Thacker.

After progressing through the earlier rounds, Pete Darbyshire, Danny May, Dave Chapman and Rex Whistler travelled to Driffield for the final where they were runners-up only losing on the final end.

Three ladies from the club were runners-up in the competition. After beating North Duffield in the semi-final, they went to York to play the final where they lost to Boroughbridge. They received their plates from Yorkshire Ladies President, Lesley Dearlove.

Congratulations
Pauline Beecroft became the first lady from the club to qualify for the National finals at Royal Leamington Spa. She was the Yorkshire Ladies Four woods Singles Champion.
