Eddie Bowes Trophy
The Eddie Bowes competition is held annually (usually towards the end of August) in memory of Eddie Bowes who was a founder member of the club. Teams of 3 players are randomly picked and play 4 games of 4 ends on different rinks - the winning team being the one that gets the best aggregate points score of won / lost.

2024
The competition reverted to its original format this year with ten teams competing in a round robin contest. Four sets of four ends each were played. There was a tie for first place on shot difference so the team who scored the most shots was declared the winner ie. Sally Scott, Steve Roberts and Ann Paskin. As always, Florence Bowes presented the trophy to the winning team.
2023
The competition followed a different format this year having a round robin followed by semi-finals and final. Pauline Beecroft, Mark Summerscales and Jenny Gordon became champions. The winners are seen here with Chairman Dave Chapman and Florence Bowes.
2022
This year, the competition was held on Sunday 21st August with ten triples teams taking part. With a score of 20-11, the winning team was Pauline Beecroft (Skip), Robin Fillippi and Sheila Kindon seen here with Florence Bowes who presented the trophy.
2021
The competition was held on Sunday 22nd August, with the best turnout so far of 36 players. The winners were Mark Summerscales, Wyn Headford and Christine Wood (Skip). They received the trophy from Florence Bowes.
Members enjoying a fabulous BBQ after the competition, with thanks to Mervyn, Steve, Olga and all the members who supplied the side dishes and desserts.
2018
The competition was held on Sunday 12th August and this time it was Danny O'Connell's turn to win for the second year in a row. His teammates this year were Margaret Chadwick and Steve Roberts. Florence Bowes presented them with the trophy.
2017
Beryl Lawrence made it two years in a row by winning again, this time with Danny O'Connell (Skip) and Ann Staiano.
2016
The winners were Basil Birchall (Skip), Beryl Lawrence and Harry Staiano seen here with Florence Bowes.
2015
