York Private Clubs

Bishop Monkton was invited to join the York Private Clubs League in 2018. Being new to the league, the club had to start in the bottom section (Section 4). Matches are usually played at the weekend from mid May to early September.
Scoring system: 2 points per rink, 2 points for the aggregate

Club Withdrawal
Unfortunately, due to lack of responses from members, the club will be withdrawing from the YPC League for this season. If the club requests to enter again in the future, it would rejoin in Section 4.

CUP WINNERS!
The team travelled to Selby where they beat Boroughbridge in the semi-final in the morning following this up with a win against York Railway Institute in the final in the afternoon. Pete Darbyshire, who played throughout the season, was not available so Rex Whistler joined the team and Christine Wood came along as reserve.

Section 1 runners-up!
The team had the same points score as Dunnington and North Duffield but Dunnington clinched the title on shot difference. Message from Captain Danny May: Well done team, a really creditable performance.

The club continued its winning streak and became Section 2 winners after 2 years when the league didn't take place due to Covid.
The player squad was Christine Wood (Captain), Danny May (Vice Captain), Pete Darbyshire, Dave Chapman, Peter Basterrechea, Tina Basterrechea, Helenor May, Sandra Roberts, Su Armstrong, Wyn Headford, Susie Whistler, Rex Whistler, Pauline Beecroft, Mervyn Beecroft, Marilyn Broad, Graham Broad, Sally Scott, Basil Birchall and Emma Oates.
On Sunday 4th September, nine of the squad went to Stamford Bridge for the finals day where they became runners-up in the Champion of Champions competition.

Section 3 runners-up.
Following promotion from Section 4 last year, the club continued its success and was runner-up in Section 3 which ensured competing in Section 2 next year. What a fantastic result!
